What the calculator does
- Applies the fixed fee for each stage up to the one selected.
- Adds the percentage fee on the part of the debt above the threshold: £1,900 on the standard scale and £1,200 for High Court writs.
- Rounds each percentage fee up to the next whole pound, because the regulations say “any fraction of £1 is to be reckoned as £1”.
- Charges one compliance fee for each debt, and the other fixed fees once, where several debts are held by the same firm.
What it leaves out
- Storage, locksmith, court and auction costs, which depend on what actually happened.
- A sum equivalent to VAT, which can be added only where the creditor is not VAT registered.
- Interest on a court judgment.
- Any reduction that applies because of vulnerability.
A check, not a ruling
The result shows what the regulations provide for the figures entered. It cannot confirm that a particular statement is right or wrong, because that depends on dates and events the calculator does not know about.

We do not charge for speaking to you. If you choose a debt solution, you are referred to one of our trusted debt solution providers, and we receive a fee if you enter into an agreement with one of them. A debt solution may have fees, which are explained before anything is agreed.
Free debt advice is available
These organisations give free, impartial debt advice and are independent of Bailiff Support Team. Nobody has to use a paid or commercial service to get help with their debts, and using one of the free services does not reduce the options available. Their advisers can also ask an enforcement firm to extend a notice period or apply for Breathing Space where it fits.
